West Coast Wilderness Experience

Bookings on scheduled tours are now closed for the 2016/17 season. If you would like to book for the 2017/18 season, please get in touch and reserve your places as soon as possible as popular dates book up early.

The West Coast Wilderness Experience is a 4 day, 3 night, stress free way to get a real feel for the New Zealand West Coast. In just a few days, you get to experience the Tranzalpine, one of the top 10 train journeys in the world, ride the West Coast Wilderness Cycle Trail, walk high above the forest of the Treetops Adventure, see a Glacier, complete a range of short West Coast Bush walks and finish in Queenstown.

West Coast Wilderness Start Greymouth

“Keep up the great work and I look forward to joining you again for our next adventure. It was a fabulous few days”.
Sally Bower, Australia

We organise everything for you, include your meals, shuttle you when you’re tired and even supply a toilet tent if you get caught short! Start your tour from Christchurch by joining the Tranzalpine train journey across the Southern Alps to Greymouth where we collect you from the station, adjust your bike to fit and let you ride off down the coast to Kumara. Over the next few days you ride through dense west coast bush, explore the ancient podocarp forests from above and below and learn much about the rich west coast gold heritage before finishing the trail at Ross. From Ross, we take you to Franz to stay the night and let you get up close and personal with a West Coast Glacier before soaking in the local hot pools. Your last day is a leisurely drive through the stunning Haast Pass, with multiple stops for side walks to waterfalls and rivers before arriving in Queenstown.

You have 2 options depending on the time you have available:

  1. 4 day West Coast Wilderness Experience
  2. 6 day West Coast Wilderness and Clutha Canyon Combo 3 trail experience
