Clutha Canyon Combo

Clutha Canyon Combo: The Clutha Gold and Roxburgh Gorge Cycle Trails

Clutha Gold Cycle Trail  Roxburgh Gorge Cycle Trail

This year, we’ve set up the 2 trail Clutha Canyon Combo as an add on to our West Coast Wilderness and Around the Mountains Experiences to create 2 additional week long cycle tours.

The Clutha Canyon Combo is a 3 day, 2 night, stress free way to ride both the Clutha Gold and the Roxburgh Gorge Cycle Trails and experience the mighty Clutha River from many different vantage points.

We drive you to Lawrence to follow the Clutha Gold Trail through farmland and alongside the mighty Clutha River before ending your journey through the Roxburgh Gorge. The Roxburgh Gorge, locally known as ‘New Zealand’s Grand Canyon’ gives you that feeling of remoteness as you drop down into the depths of the gorge itself before cycling along the undulating surface through to the jet boat pick up point. Enjoy a scenic jetboat ride through the middle 10kms before being dropped off with your bike to ride out of the gorge and into Alexandra. Cruise along the Millenium track to finish the journey at Clyde. Drinks all round before returning to Queenstown.
